Editorial Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Editorial Policy explains how HomeRevampDaily chooses, researches, writes and maintains its home repair guides, so you know what to expect from every page on this site.
What we publish
We publish step-by-step home repair and DIY guides for US homeowners: repairs, replacements, measurements and calculations, with the tools, materials, time and difficulty stated honestly for each job.
How a guide is created
- We start from a real problem homeowners search for and confirm the scope of the job.
- We research the repair against manufacturer instructions, published standards and established trade practice.
- We write the guide as clear steps, in the order you would actually do the work, with measurements and code numbers where they matter.
- Before publishing, each guide is reviewed for accuracy, completeness and safety warnings.
- After publishing, we update guides when products, standards or best practice change, and we mark them with an updated date.
Safety comes first
Every guide states where a job needs a permit or a licensed professional. We do not publish shortcuts that bypass safety devices, codes or manufacturer instructions. Read our DIY Safety Disclaimer for the full position.
Independence and money
Editorial decisions come before commercial ones. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change a recommendation, a step or a measurement. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Corrections
